Drop Box guide

This guide will demonstrate the basic features of KnowledgeTree's Drop Box client tool.


Install

Step 1 Execute the setup.exe file.

Step 2 Read and accept the license agreement.

Step 3 Enter the details Drop Box needs to access your KnowledgeTree repository.

Step 4 Choose whether Drop Box should automatically run on System Startup.

Step 5 Choose a destination folder where Drop Box will be installed.

Step 6 Confirm that you want to install Drop Box with the details you have supplied.

Step 7 The installation is complete.

Configure

On the Login Details page you can test the connection between the Drop Box and your KnowledgeTree repository.

To start the application, navigate to Start - All Programs - KnowledgeTree - Drop Box - KnowledgeTree Drop Box

Drop Box will appear as a draggable window.

An icon is placed in the notification area. Right click the icon to access the setting menu.

From the context menu you can

  • change the server and login details,
  • toggle whether Drop Box runs on System Startup,
  • force the Drop Box window to stay on top of other windows,
  • change the size of the window,
  • view information about your installed version of Drop Box,
  • minimize the window,
  • and close Drop Box.


Use

To add a document to your KnowledgeTree repository, simply drag and drop a file from the desktop or Windows explorer onto the Drop Box window.

The Drop Box will indicate the success of the upload.

Each user can find their documents in there own folder in the DroppedDocuments folder.
