Setting up
Install Adobe AIR
1. Begin by installing Adobe AIR. You can download it from Adobe AIR download page if you don't already have it.
Make sure to download the correct version for your operating system. Adobe AIR supports Windows, Linux and Macintosh.
2. Once the download is complete, open the executable file.
The installer setup page will appear. Read and accept the license agreement by clicking I Agree.
3. When the installation is complete, click Finish.
Install KnowledgeTree Explorer CP
4. Download the KnowledgeTree Explorer CP installer.
Open the file to start installing KnowledgeTree Explorer CP.
5. Adobe AIR checks the file to make sure it is genuine. It displays the name of the publisher and the application.
If the publisher identity is verified with a green tick, click Install.
6. On the installation preferences page you can choose to add a shortcut to the desktop and to start the application automatically after the installation.
You can also change the location where KnowledgeTree Explorer CP will install to.
Click Continue.
Getting Started
7. Open KnowledgeTree Explorer CP if it isn't already open.
KnowledgeTree Explorer CP needs to connect to your KTree server. Enter the address, making sure to include the full URL.
This should include the protocol e.g. 'HTTP://', the domain name e.g. 'www.knowledgetree.com', and any subfolders.
Click OK.
8. The login page appears.
Enter your username and password in the fields provided.
Click Remember me if you want KnowledgeTree Explorer CP to remember these settings the next time you login.
If for some reason you want to change to a different server, you can go back by clicking Server Settings.
Click Login.
9. The KnowledgeTree Explorer CP window opens. See the Visual Guide for more on how to use Explorer CP.
